The 53rd World Environment Day will be celebrated on 5 June 2024, with the theme "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience". The Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment has previously released the theme of this year's National Environment Day - "Comprehensively Promoting the Construction of a Beautiful China", aiming to mobilise all sectors of society to actively participate in the modernisation of China in which human beings coexist harmoniously with nature.
Yangzhou Tianying organised an open day event on 5 June, which was attended by leaders and representatives from the Eco-Environment Bureau of Jiangdu, City Management Bureau of Jiangdu District, Yiling Township Government, Qili Community, Yiling Middle School, and Jianghai Vocational and Technical College. Zhang Xiaokang, General Manager of Yangzhou Tianying, presided over the event and introduced in detail how the plant has been safely operating for the past four years. Through the plant, waste generated within the area is transferred and incinerated here to generate electricity for grid use. It also ensures that all emissions meet relevant requirements by increasing investment and operating efficiency.
